Realizou-se em Lisboa, nos dias 9 e 10 de outubro de 2017, no edifício sede do Banco de Portugal, a Conferência Money in Africa, numa organização conjunta do Banco de Portugal, Banque de France e European Association for Banking and Financial History.

Esta Conferência procurou analisar, numa perspetiva histórica, diferentes experiências com a descolonização monetária e financeira. O objetivo foi apresentr uma análise comparativa das diferentes regiões do continente africano e das suas particularidades, muitas vezes decorrentes das suas ex-ligações.
